Welcome Notes

Dear harpists, exhibitors,
and all who love the harp,

Our Tenth Congress brings us back to the country where the World Harp Congress was born - the Netherlands. Host Committee Chairman Ernestine Stoop and her committee members have designed a program that I’m certain will attract many of us to join them for this most appropriate celebration. I’m confident that the spirit of our founder, Phia Berghout, will be celebrating this significant anniversary with us this coming July in her native land.

With our Congress Center located in the heart of this great port city, we’ll be enjoying concerts in Amsterdam’s world-renowned\ performance halls, with a variety of nearby lodging. We’ll have convenient access to legendary sightseeing opportunities on the Continent before or after the Congress.

Now is the time to complete your plans to be with us for seven festive days of celebration of the harp. Remember that the cutoff date for early registration (with a significant savings on your registration fee) is 1 April 2008.

Sincerely,

Patricia E. Wooster, Chairman
Board of Directors

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is a great pleasure for me to invite you to Amsterdam to attend the 10th World Harp Congress in July 2008. This Congress will be very special in so many ways, including outstanding concerts, lectures, featured soloists and the tribute concert in honor of our Founder, Phia Berghout. As we celebrate our 10th Congress it is very appropriate that we return to our roots in the Netherlands where it all began.

I can assure you that the 10th WHC will be an unforgettable event that you will not want to miss. I hope you will join us, and I look forward to welcoming you there!

Cordially,

Susann McDonald, Artistic Director
The World Harp Congress, Inc.
